Admissions & Marketing Subcommittee Minutes

Agenda Topic
- Lisa went over the Core values and how our committee reflects and uses them.
- Updates since last meeting:
- Amy brought up a concern regarding the weight room & its rules.
- Lisa will get clarification and make sure website reflects it
- Lisa reviewed the minutes from the previous meeting:
- Lisa pitched the NASA people to KWTX for the “Tell me something good” put it was not picked up.
- Need more ideas
- We can now use the “M” with the orange chevron for advertising
- Updating department websites is a priority
- Amanda asked if her page for International students could be added to the “I am a” drop down
- Resources will be added to the home page
- New Business:
- Lisa shared MARCOM's goals, objectives and strategies to increase student enrollment. She asked the committee to come up with the same.
- Subcommittee goals & objectives for 2023-2024 (Group)
- Focus on adult learners 25 years of age and older
- Objective: Increase enrollment of 25-45 by 3-5% over Fall 2023
- Use of the mobile classroom to set up “Pop-Up” events in the various neighborhoods/communities.
- HOT Workforce Solutions (Jose Palacios) how we can target their clients (25-45 YO) as well as veterans
- Increasing community awareness and publicity about MCC
- Sponsoring Little League and/or Adult League teams in the community
- Assignments for committee members
- Frank will research the logistics of using the Mobile Classroom
- D research partnership with HOT Workforce Solutions
- Gale and Elizabeth will research the logistics of sponsoring little league and adult league teams
- Michelle and Karen will have recommended revision to the GED Scholarship
- Objective: Increase enrollment of 25-45 by 3-5% over Fall 2023
- Focus on adult learners 25 years of age and older
